Oil on Board 6×6
This is a small daily painting. I shot this last summer while vacationing in Ft Lauderdale. I love how the buoy’s just float effortlessly over the waves – no matter how big or small. To see more work or to purchase this painting click here.

VIRTRUVIAN FLY – WINGS OF GOLD
Oil on Stretched Canvas
6′ x 4′
As some of you know, I have been painting the Dragonfly for several years now. Originally, I started painting small scale studies of these magical creatures with a focus on their colorful bodies. But as time went on my attention shifted from the body to high lighting the wings — the true essence of the dragonfly. And in doing so, the canvas size seem to grow as well. As an artist, its been amazing to see the evolution, in my process, style, palette, size and composition. It’s been absolutely transforming.
I say this with much gratitude and surprise, that this IS by far my best painting ever! Last year I was commissioned to create a site specific, large scale Dragonfly painting that had depth, meaning and symbolic references – significant to my client and the mystical reflection of the dragonfly.
The words are written backwards and reads as follows;
“The Dragonfly spirit is the essence of winds of change, the messages of wisdom and enlightenment: and the communication from the elemental world. It’s medicine beckons you to seek out the parts of your habits which need changing. Reminding you must consciously make an effort to express your hopes, dreams, needs and wishes. You can turn to the dragonfly to guide you through the mists of illusion to the pathway of transformation….”

24 X 36 Oil on Canvas
This painting was inspired from a compilation of photos I shot of crab encounters I’ve experienced. Recently, I was hired to paint a large scale version of this composition from a smaller study I did a few summers ago titled, “Crabby”. This painting has me looking forward to another summer on the Delaware shore….

REJUVENATION – 48X48 – OIL ON CANVAS
This was a large commission that I worked on during October. The dimensions are 48×48 and was created for a beautiful bright space in a Florida home. The composition was inspired from a smaller painting I did a few years back titled, Rejuvenate Me.
Oil on Canvas 4×12
I spent a lot of time over the last few months down at the Shore in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Most mornings I like to walk the beach before the crowds come in if I am able. It’s so calm and peaceful then. This small painting is just a sampling of that solitude I like to submerge in….

Oil on Canvas – 6′ x 4′
This is one of my most current commissioned paintings of a Large Scale Dragonfly. My inspiration came from Leonardo’s DaVinci’s Vitruvian Man Drawing. The dragonfly has been my subject matter for the past several years now. I’m constantly exploring and looking for new creative ways to aesthetically design and paint this mystical creature. Since I am heavily influenced by many contemporary artists and art history – this seems to be a natural evolution to connect my art (the dragonfly) to Davinci’s, Vitruvian Man. In fact, I have always envisioned a Dragonfly in this composition for years and love the way it’s turning out.
Stay tuned for more…. Thanks for looking
